La importancia de la Nutrición en triatletas

 Todos  nosotros  al  estar  involucrados  en  el  triatlón,  estamos  interesados   en  tener  un  balance  en  nuestro  cuerpo  y  mente:  entrenando,   compitiendo,  trabajando  y  teniendo  una  vida  social  acorde.    

Para  lograr  un  rendimiento  máximo  en  la  competencia,  pero a  la  vez  mantenernos delgados  y  con  niveiqualityles  de  energía excelentes  en  todas nuestras actividades, incluidos los entrenamientos, es  fundamental  considerar  los  siguientes puntos:

  1. Limitante  genética
  2. Composición  corporal
  3. Eficiencia  metabólica
  4. Periodización de la nutrición
  5. Nutrición de largo plazo

Nuestra  genética  será  la  limitante  física  para perder grasa  o  ganar  masa muscular; sin  embargo, dentro de  estos  límites  genéticos,  existe  un rango amplísimo donde  podemos  trabajar  a detalle. Así  mismo,  cuando  escuchamos  a  los  atletas conversar  sobre temas asociados  al  peso  corporal  y  rendimiento  deportivo,  pareciera  ser  que  el  factor determinante  para  el  alto  rendimiento  es  el  peso; sin  embargo,  pocas  veces  se presta  atención  a  la relación: masa muscular vs. materia  grasa.

Screenshot_3A su vez, la  eficiencia  metabólica,  también  conocida  como  entrenamiento nutricional, es  pocas  veces  siquiera  considerada  por  los  atletas, especialmente cuando  se encuentran  fuera  de  la  temporada, que es cuando podrían enfocarse mucho más  en ella.  Y lo  mismo  sucede  con  la periodización  de  la  nutrición, una  vez incorporado  el  atleta  en  la  temporada  de  entrenamientos  más  estructurados  y competencias, suele menospreciar  la  importancia  de  la  cantidad,  calidad  y distribución  de  los  nutrientes  en  las  diferentes  fases  del  plan  de  entrenamiento  y competencias.

Cp3-RUMWYAAwrzjSin  embargo,  cuando  somos  capaces  de  visualizar  nuestro  peso  y   composición corporal  en  un  orden  inverso:

Priorizando  la  salud  de  largo   plazo  

es  cuando  los  cambios  se  convierten  en  transformaciones sostenibles,  justo cuando la  composición corporal se  maximiza, logrando  un  cuerpo  magro, musculoso, y manteniéndolo para lograr el mejor rendimiento en la competencia.

Por eso, es en temporadas de descanso (off-season), cuando debes poner más atención a la nutrición y construir el físico para ser un mejor atleta.
